Alex turned sweet 16 and came to celebrate! She had cards made up to send to her friends and family announcing her big day.

Cousins Teale, Brant, and Paige all graduated this month! Teale from junior high, Brant from high school, and Paige from college. Their families are very proud of them and so are we! Good luck in your new adventures! Don't worry Megan, you'll get your chance soon.

Stockdale Christian Junior High graduates had their portraits taken, too. Congratulations to all of you as well.

Beth and Jane have been dancing with Civic Dance for many years and, never fail, every year they come in to get their pictures taken in their costumes. This year they wore these fun outfits!
Speaking of dancers, the first couple weeks of June were filled with young dancers. A slew of kiddoes in their feathered, sequined, and fluffed costumes posed for portraits. The dancers, from Linda Larma Dance Academe, had their recitals and all went off without a hitch! Congratulations, and see you next year!

We have had the opportunity to photograph some really great seniors in the last few months. They have been involved in all kinds of activities at school and in the community. Many have been outstanding scholars and most will be heading to colleges near and far.
There are two in particular that we want to mention that recently received the McCarthy Medal of Merit. Meghan Saphiloff , from Bakersfield Adventist Academy and David Heisler, from Foothill High, were among 20 honorees representing Kern County High Schools. Their selection was based on academic excellence, exemplary citizenship and leadership skills.

It has been our privilege to get to know all of our Seniors this year. We wish you all the best and will look forward to hearing great things about you!!!!!
To all of you in the class of 2009 – your time is coming!!! Get your yearbook pictures done as required by your school this summer, and then come to us for your REAL Senior Portrait either this Fall or next Spring, when you really look like a Grad. Check out the Senior section of our website to find out more and have a great summer – you have a BIG year ahead of you!!!!!!!!!!!

We have to tell you about a very special wedding last Saturday. Melissa and Devin looked amazing while tying the knot. We've been photographing Melissa and her brother and sister since they were tiny, and it has been a joy to watch her grow up to become a beautiful, successful woman. The whole day was perfect and we wish them a wonderful life together!

Spring is in the air and June is around the corner! Lately, the studio has been packed with eager graduates. We wish them all success and happiness in the future. Here's just a few examples of our smiling seniors.

Let them eat cake! Alana came in for her 1st birthday portraits, and what a time we had! Things got up close and personal when Alana wanted to help Maribeth take pictures. Then the sitting took a messy turn when the birthday cake was brought in. But, as we all know, icing covered babies take the yummiest pictures!
The Strolling Strings are some of the most talented kids in the Panama Buena Vista Union School District. Performing such places as local rest homes and schools. The students actually "stroll" around while playing! The have also been featured statewide on NPR.
There's something wonderful about the bond between mother and child. Baby Julian came in at just the right age for Maribeth to capture some great shots of that relationship.
11 March 2008
Austin, Katie, and Dyllan came into the studio for a brothers-sister shot. We've been photographing them since they were babies and we can't believe how big they have gotten! These kids are growing too fast! During the sitting we had a lot of fun and created beautiful memories for their parents.

Mia came in for her daddy-and-me 9 month pictures just like her big brothers.

Emily came in for her two year pictures. She brought props from her Elmo-themed birthday party and a dress given to her grandmother. The dress for a little girl just Emily's size and was made during World War II!

Maribeth and Evan had a blast in the camera room last week. Evan came for his 6th birthday and Maribeth suggested that he bring his favorite things with him, sooooooooo Evan showed up with his entire Star Wars collection and he and Maribeth started to use their imagination. With the Star Wars theme blaring, Evan began to role-play with his light saber. Then he helped take the pictures of his Star Wars friends. With Maribeth’s digital magic, this is what the two of them came up with!
When a two year old comes to the studio, we can be sure that we will have a fun and active sitting. That was the case when little Brooke came to have her two-year-old portrait done. What a charmer. She had Maribeth and her Mommy laughing at her cute antics. Look at this adorable face!
Not all of our clients are two legged. Often we get to have fun with the four-legged variety. Dixie came in for her portrait and was a perfect lady. Can you believe this smile? No digital work – honest!
Jack had a great time playing in our Rubber Ducky set. This was his third time having his portrait taken and you can see by his smile that he feels right at home in the camera room.

It's that time of year again - The CSUB Nursing class is ready to graduate, but first...portraits! They look so professional in their hats and pins. Now they only thing they have to worry about is passing the boards. Good Luck to the CSUB Nursing Class of 2008! We wish you well in your future careers.
We also wanted to share with you an interesting email we recieved about one of our regular clients.
Thank you for the picture. We will add it to our web site. BMXHEX.com
This was won at the 2007 Grand Nationals. Noah received a 1st place for his national age group. The event is held in Tulsa, OK.
Noah is on our team BMX HEX. It is a family owned and operated Bicycle Motocross racing team.
Our team finished 5th overall for 2007 out of 67 bike shop teams competing nationally. Noah and his family are a great addition to our BMX team.
Sincerely,

Julie brought her new baby Luke and his older brother Gage into the studio. We wanted to share one of our favorite pictures from the sitting.

We love watching our young clients grow up, and being in business for over twenty years has allowed us this opportunity.
We have been photographing Brandon since he was just a baby, and last month he and his fiancee were married. Of course, we were there to capture this beautiful moment in both their lives.

The holiday season has begun. The Heasleys' Photography Studio has been transformed in to a holiday workshop and we are busy, busy, busy! This week we photographed triplets and their big sister for this year's Christmas card. The camera room was a bit chaotic, but we had a blast! Take a peek at how cute they are!

11 October 2007
It's time to bring your family into the studio for family portraits! Look at how gorgeous it is outdoors right now. The fall foliage isn't far away, and Christmas is right around the corner!
9 October 2007
It's been a while since we last posted our "happenings" on our blog. We've been busy! The school season has started, which means class pictures. We have also stayed pretty creative in the studio. John came into the studio with his castle creation. Maribeth suggested to John and his mom that we create a fantasy portrait that puts him right into his castle! Here's how it turned out:

Look closer...
We have also started working taking senior portraits, especially students from BCHS. Note the new background painted this summer by Liz!
12 July 2007
Outside may be hot and dusty, but inside our studio life's a beach! We've seen hawaiian print and polka dot swimsuits, flip flops, sunglasses, and sun hats. We've had such fun and are sad to have to put the beach away at the end of today. I guess we'll have to plan a real trip to the coast now.
11 July 2007
Sat morning was a beautiful day for Bethany and Joe. Their wedding was outside at 10 am, so we were able to beat the heat. What a fun group of family and friends, and what a beautiful setting! We had a great time photographing- starting at 6:30 am at Teeze Salon, then moving to Valley Baptist Church for pre pictures. After a beautiful wedding and reception, the happy couple were off on their honeymoon. We will be working on preparing their images this week but here is a sneak peak! Happy Marriage Joe and Bethany!!!
27 June 2007
We've finished photographing the dancers from Linda
Larma and now we're busy getting the packages ready to be sent
away with their owners. They should be ready around the second week
in July.
In a few weeks we'll be hauling a huge bucket of
sand and seashells into the studio for our
beach special. We don't
mind the mess; the kids have a lot of fun. And so do we.
We just got exciting news that one of our young
clients, Beth, has been chosen for the lead role in Mulan this
summer at Stars Theatre. Congratulations Beth and the rest of the
kids in the show!
Maribeth and Ken just got back from a lighting workshop
in Los Angeles. They're excited to try out all the new techniques
they learned.

Congratulations High School
Seniors! We hope you're enjoying your summer and getting ready for
whatever exciting things you have planned for the future.
